I'm only looking for a permanent position, why should I consider temporary employment? The most obvious answer to this question is that temporary employment allows you to earn money while you are looking for that perfect job. But there are many other benefits to accepting temporary assignments. The following are just a few reasons:
• Maintaining & improving your skills. When you don't consistently use the skills you have, you can lose or reduce your performance level. Working with computer software packages is an excellent example. Not only can you maintain & utilize your current skills, you may be eligible for free computer training at Kaye Personnel to upgrade your computer skills.
• Try before you buy. Temporary employment allows an individual to experience the work and corporate environment of a position before making a long-term commitment to it. It also enables those individuals starting or changing their career the opportunity to try a variety of positions & environments to find the one with the best fit for them.
• Flexibility. Depending on your schedule, we may have the job for you. Kaye Personnel receives all kinds of positions, including:
• Full & part-time • Long-term or short-term • 1st, 2nd, & 3rd shifts • Temporary, temp-to-perm, & permanent • Networking.
When you are registered with Kaye Personnel, we become your employment marketing consultants. We market your skills to our existing clients, increasing your exposure to employers and improving your opportunities for employment. In addition, we receive requests from clients to fill temporary, temp-to-perm, & permanent positions that will never be advertised. Kaye Personnel obtains many opportunities from our clients, exclusively.
• Holiday & Vacation Pay. Kaye Personnel offers both holiday & vacation pay to all of its employees. To be eligible for vacation pay, you need to accumulate 1500 hours working for us in a calendar year (from January to December). The hours you work for us are automatically calculated and a vacation check is issued 2 weeks after you complete the necessary hours.
Kaye Personnel offers holiday pay for the following holidays: • New Year's Day • Memorial Day • Fourth of July • Labor Day • Thanksgiving Day • Christmas Day
To be eligible for the holiday pay, you must accumulate 480 hours working for Kaye prior to the holiday. In addition, you must work the day before the holiday and be available for work the day after the holiday. For example, Christmas Day is on a Friday. You must work Thursday and be available to work or working on Monday to receive the pay.
Is there a fee? No. Kaye Personnel never charges a fee to anyone who registers with us. Our services are paid for through the clients who utilize us to fill their open positions.
I'm on unemployment. Doesn't temporary work affect my benefits? No! In fact, temporary assignments can extend your unemployment benefits. When you accept a temporary assignment, your unemployment benefits are put on hold. When your assignment ends, you can apply for your benefits again. As you are working for us, you'll be contributing unemployment taxes from your paycheck. If you work on a long-term assignment of 4 months or longer with us, you may even increase your weekly unemployment benefit when you apply again.
Who pays me and how do I get paid? Even though our employees work at many different client sites, all the people on assignment through Kaye Personnel are employees of Kaye Personnel. Each week our employees complete a timecard that is signed by their direct supervisor. This timecard is faxed to our offices and processed on Mondays & Tuesdays. Checks are then mailed directly to our employees homes and usually received on Thursdays or Fridays.
